Summer at Perimeter is busy and we need your help. We have summer student positions available throughout the Institute, running from May 5, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
Perimeter’s Media Technology (audio/visual) team is busy over the summer supporting and recording the many events and conferences that take place at Perimeter. Working closely with the Media Technology team, the Media Technology Summer Student will play an important role in ensuring Perimeter employees, students and visitors receive the best support during their conferences and seminars, gaining hands-on experience in various elements of media production.

Primary Duties Include:
- Record and produce high-quality video content for various platforms and audiences using best-of-breed technologies
- Support Perimeter employees, students and visitors with video conferencing and presentation technology
- Work with other Technology Services department units to ensure appropriate delivery of IT end-user support
- Assist with install and commissioning of new equipment and technologies
- This position may require the occasional evening or weekend work outside of Perimeter’s core hours for special event support
What you need to have:
- Current or graduating student in post secondary education such as Audio/Visual Production, Film and Television, or an Information Technology related field is preferred
- Basic understanding of media editing and production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Ability to work and adapt to a rapidly changing, highly technical environments
- Display artistic aptitude with an exceptional sense of visual esthetics and design
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Stellar time management skills
If we’re being greedy, we’d also like:
- Experience with supporting AV control systems
- Experience in broadcasting or live streaming
- Understanding of IT (information technology) technologies
- Desire to develop and produce procedures to support end-user needs
