Summer at Perimeter is busy and we need your help. We have summer student positions available throughout the Institute, running from May 5, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
The Communications and Public Engagement team is focusing on Perimeter’s 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2025! The Visual Science Communicator Summer Student will support all departments with graphic design requests as well as create visual science communications, allowing their team and the whole institution to prepare for the 25th Anniversary celebrations.

Primary Duties Include:
- Graphic Design:
- Using Perimeter standards and templates, design compelling graphics for digital signage, internal and external communications, and reports
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from various departments for graphic requests
- Animate logos and other Perimeter graphics and design elements for use on digital signage, website and social media
- Visual Science Communication:
- Design infographics, visual listicles
- Design posters
- Design visual explainers of physics concepts
- Design short animations or physics and science concepts
What you need to have:
- Working towards a degree in visual arts, graphic design, animation or another related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven competence in graphic design and digital animation
- Understanding of and/or courses in storytelling and communication
- A creative individual who can bring ideas to life
- An interest in physics and science is an asset
- Experience or courses in science communication is helpful, but not required
